Shopify SEO Services That Turn Collections Into Revenue

Shopify gets a store online fast, and it handles the SEO basics well. It doesn't fix the problems that hold growing stores back: duplicate product URLs, thin collection pages, apps slowing every template, and product data that AI shopping answers can't use. SeoChopper fixes those, then grows the collections and products that make you money.

We crawl your store, check your top collections in Google and AI shopping answers, and send you the fix list. No call required.

What Shopify SEO services include

Shopify SEO services are the technical, on-page and content work that helps a Shopify store rank in Google, appear in Google Shopping's free listings, and get named in AI shopping answers. The work covers theme and app performance, duplicate URL cleanup, collection and product page optimisation, structured data, redirects and reporting on organic revenue.

The platform takes care of hosting, security and some of the plumbing. Everything that decides whether your store outranks a competitor on the same platform is still up to you.

Does Shopify offer SEO services?

No. Shopify provides built-in SEO features and a directory of independent partners, but it doesn't optimise your store for you. Here's where the line sits.

Shopify SEO problems we fix

These are the issues we find on most Shopify stores, roughly in order of how often they cost revenue.

01

Duplicate product URLs

The same product often loads at /products/name and at /collections/collection-name/products/name. The canonical tag points to the first, but many themes link to the second throughout the store, sending mixed signals and wasting crawl. We fix the theme's internal links so every link points to one clean URL.

02

Tag pages and filter URLs

Collection tags and filters create thousands of thin URLs that look like separate pages to Google. We decide which deserve to rank, turn those into proper collections, and keep the rest out of the index.

03

Thin collection pages

Collections usually win the biggest searches, but on most stores they're a product grid and nothing else. We add short, useful buying guidance and internal links that help them rank without pushing products down the page.

04

App bloat and slow themes

Every app can add scripts to every page, including apps you removed months ago. We audit what loads, remove what isn't earning its place, and improve Core Web Vitals on the templates that carry the most revenue.

05

Fixed URL structure

Shopify requires prefixes like /products/ and /collections/, and you can't remove them. That's fine for rankings. What matters is clean handles, sensible collection structure and redirects whenever a handle changes.

06

International stores and Shopify Markets

Markets can generate hreflang tags and local versions of your store, but settings and translated content still need checking so the right country sees the right version.

Our Shopify SEO services

Six pieces of work, usually in this order.

Shopify technical SEO audit

A full crawl of your store against the problems above, plus Search Console, GA4 and AI shopping-answer checks for your top collections. You get a ranked fix list with the revenue at stake for each item. Available as a standalone audit service.

Theme and technical fixes

Internal links cleaned up, crawl waste blocked, redirects mapped, apps audited and Core Web Vitals improved. We work in your theme directly or brief your developer, whichever you prefer.

Collection page optimisation

Collections planned around real search demand, with titles, buying guidance, filters and internal links that help them rank and convert.

Product pages and structured data

Unique titles and descriptions for priority products, complete Product schema with price, availability, shipping and returns, and a clean product feed to Google Merchant Center. This is also the data AI shopping tools read. See getting products cited in AI answers.

Content that sells

Buying guides and comparisons using your store's blog, written to answer the questions buyers ask before they choose, each linking to the right collection.

Revenue reporting

Organic revenue, orders and conversion rate by collection, from GA4 and Shopify Analytics, matched to rankings and AI citations. One page, monthly.

How the engagement runs

  1. 1

    Audit and baseline

Crawl, theme review, app inventory, top collections checked in Google and AI answers.

You get: the fix list and a first-90-days plan.

  2. 2

    Fix the foundation

Duplicate URLs, crawl waste, speed and schema fixed.

You get: a store Google crawls efficiently.

  3. 3

    Grow the revenue pages

Priority collections and products rebuilt, buying guides published.

You get: live pages, each mapped to a target search.

  4. 4

    Track in revenue terms

Monthly organic revenue by collection, rankings and AI citations.

You get: the one-page report and a call if you want one.

Technical fixes often show results within weeks of Google recrawling the store. New collection rankings in competitive niches take three to six months or longer.

Shopify, Shopify Plus and headless

The same principles apply on every Shopify plan; the tools differ. On Shopify Plus, larger catalogues and multiple stores make crawl control and international setup more important. Headless stores built on Hydrogen or another front end need their SEO basics (rendering, sitemaps, canonicals and schema) rebuilt deliberately, because the theme no longer provides them. We work on all three.

Starting from scratch? We also do Shopify store builds.

Moving to Shopify without losing rankings

Migrating from WooCommerce, Magento or another platform is where stores most often lose organic revenue, nearly always through missed redirects. Shopify's URL prefixes mean almost every URL changes, so every old URL needs a planned destination.

  1. Crawl and export every URL on the old store, plus the pages that bring in traffic and links.
  2. Map each one to its new Shopify URL, and redirect retired products to the closest replacement or collection.
  3. Move titles, descriptions, alt text and schema across, not just products.
  4. Test the redirects on a staging store before launch.
  5. Monitor rankings, Search Console errors and revenue daily for the first month.

How we measure: numbers you can check

We report organic revenue by collection, the searches each one ranks for, and which AI answers name your store. If you can't check a number yourself in Shopify Analytics, GA4 or Search Console, it doesn't go on the report.

How to choose a Shopify SEO agency

The right Shopify SEO agency can explain your store's problems before you pay them. Ask every shortlisted agency, us included:

  • How will you handle duplicate product URLs in our theme?
  • Which apps would you remove, and how will you measure the speed gain?
  • Do you edit theme code yourselves, or brief our developer?
  • Will you report organic revenue by collection, not just traffic?
  • Do we keep all content and data if we stop working together?

Red flags: promises of guaranteed rankings, an “SEO app” sold as the whole solution, and AI-generated product descriptions published at scale.

What Shopify SEO services cost

Two ways to work with us. Both start with the free audit.

Pricing depends on catalogue size, Shopify plan, number of markets, and how much theme work your own developer handles.

  • Fixed-scope sprint: the technical audit, theme and technical fixes, schema and feed cleanup, and priority collections rebuilt.
  • Monthly retainer: ongoing collection and product work, content, technical monitoring and monthly revenue reporting.

Questions Shopify store owners ask

Is Shopify good for SEO?

Yes, for most stores. Shopify handles hosting, speed infrastructure, sitemaps and basic canonical tags well. Its weak spots are duplicate product URLs, limited control over URL structure, and themes or apps that slow pages down. All of these are fixable, and well-optimised Shopify stores rank in every competitive niche.

Do you offer SEO services for both WordPress and Shopify?

Yes. We work on Shopify stores and on WordPress sites, including WooCommerce stores, and we build fast sites on both. If you're deciding between the two platforms or planning a move, the audit covers what each means for your search visibility.

Do I need an SEO app for Shopify?

Not necessarily. Most SEO apps help with tasks like bulk-editing meta tags or adding schema, and some are genuinely useful. But no app fixes duplicate URL links in your theme, writes good collection content or decides what should be indexed. Every app also adds code, so install only what earns its place.

What's included in a Shopify technical SEO audit?

A full crawl of your store, a review of duplicate URLs, tag and filter pages, robots.txt and the sitemap, an app and speed check, a schema and Merchant Center review, Search Console data, and your top collections checked in Google and AI answers. You get a ranked fix list.

How long does Shopify SEO take to show results?

Technical fixes often show within weeks of Google recrawling the store. Improved collection and product pages usually move over three to six months. Competitive searches where you're up against large retailers or marketplaces can take six to twelve months or more.

Will you need access to my Shopify admin?

Yes, with a staff or collaborator account limited to what the work needs, such as themes, products and online store settings. We never need payment or customer data access, and you can remove access at any time.

Can you help us migrate to Shopify?

Yes, and it's best to involve us before launch. We map every old URL to its new Shopify address, carry across metadata and schema, test redirects on a staging store, and monitor rankings and revenue closely for the first month after the switch.
